Brenna helps people navigate adolescence and beyond

Expanding growth through sharing knowledge

A Quick Introduction!

I’ve seen some stuff in my time and have been referred to as a street fighter, a battler, a bogan (I’ll explain later), stubborn, but above all, passionate.

I am particularly passionate about working with teenagers. Adolescence is like a right of passage and can be hard.

I like to think that I can assist you through this and as a bonus give you life long skills. If I don’t suit, please keep looking, it’s worth your time, I’m happy to make some suggestions.

If this is the first time you have reached out to a psychologist for counselling, you may be a bit nervous about it.

  • What if they judge me?
  • What if they ask me to do things that I’m not happy to do?
  • What if they don’t understand what’s happening to me?

And ……

  • What if they can’t help me?

I’d encourage you to ask these questions if this is the case

  • Why am I reaching out for support, or why has this been recommended to me?
  • What is it that I’d like to change or improve in my life?
  • What would it look like for me if I could change or improve these things?
  • Would it be worth it to see if I could do this?

So if after this there is something you would really like to explore than be assured, if you feel like we don’t connect, or the approaches that we explore don’t suit you, I will endeavour to explore what alternatives you can try.

So my approach:

Whilst psychologist are initially trained in the same approaches, we tend to find ones that resonate with us the most during our careers and look for ways of improving tem as we go.

I was really lucky to have been introduced to a multidirectional approach in my early career called the PET model. The PET model was developed by my Mentor “Kyp” to be a simple and visual approach – to display multidirectional interplay of all three of our systems, P – Physical E – Emotional T – Thinking. This model allows us to easily understand and visually see If one system is challenged then often the other two follow suit. And inversely if improvements can be made in one system the others follow.
